garlic/ poondu chutney/ kara chutney
INGREDIENTS
- Garlic cloves from 2 full garlics.
- Tomatoes - 2
- Red chillies - 6
- Small onion - 2 (chopped)
- Mustard seeds - 1/4 tsp.
- Bengalgram dhal - 1/4 tsp.
- Curry leaves - chopped as required
- Salt as required
METHOD OF PREPARATION
- Cut tomatoes into small pieces.
- Now grind the garlic cloves with red chillies without pouring water.
- Now add tomatoes and salt and grind coarsely.
- Take a pan and fry mustard seeds, bengalgram dhal, chopped onion and curry leaves.
- Add the chutney into the fried ingredients.
- Keep boiling for 10 minutes until the raw smell of the garlic disappears.
- Serve this chutney with idli, dosa and chappathi.
