milagu kuzhambu
INGREDIENTS
- Tamarind - 1 lime size
- Salt - 2 tsp.
- Curry leaves
- Mustard - 1 tsp.
For masala
- Pepper - 1 and a half tsp.
- Red chillies - 4
- Thur dhal - 1 and a half tsp.
- Black gram - 1 and a half tsp.
- Asafoetida - a bit
METHOD OF PREPARATION
- Fry the above ingredients in a little oil and grind into a smooth paste.
- Add to the extracted tamarind juice (1/2 litre).
- Add salt and allow to simmer for 15 - 20 minutes till it gets a little thickened.
- Finally, add a tsp. of rice flour dissolved in a little water.
- After 5 minutes, remove from fire.
- Season with mustard seeds and curry leaves.
